Protection & Human Rights

HAPEN’s protection programme seeks to improve the protective environment for vulnerable groups — especially women, children, the elderly, and the displaced. The programme:

Monitors and reports cases of Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) and other human rights abuses
Spearheads mainstreaming of SGBV and Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (SEA) across all programs
Facilitates community initiatives to address stigmatisation of survivors
Operates referral systems incorporating trauma healing, psychosocial support, and basic services
Deploys mobile protection teams to hard-to-reach and newly accessible areas
Establishes and trains community protection committees in IDP camps and villages
Integrates MHPSS into health, protection, and livelihood programs
Operationalises Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) through toll-free lines and trained staff
Supports the operationalization of the IDP Bill and the National Action Plan to End Statelessness
