Shelter & Non-Food Items (NFIs)

HAPEN ensures that the most vulnerable populations affected by conflict or natural disaster have timely access to emergency shelter and NFIs. The programme:

Delivers Emergency Shelter Kits (ESKs) including tarpaulins, plastic sheets, and local materials for newly displaced families
Provides core NFI kits (1 plastic sheet, 3 blankets, 2 jerrycans, 1 solar lamp, 2 sleeping mats, 1 mosquito net, 1 kitchen set)
Constructs transitional and permanent shelters in resettlement areas and in partnership with local authorities to guarantee tenure
Operates referral systems incorporating trauma healing, psychosocial support, and basic services
Integrates site planning and decongestion into all shelter responses
Coordinates with WASH, Protection, CCCM, and other clusters for holistic responses
